How do I access my Stripe Express account for WooPayments?

WooPayments is built in partnership with Stripe. When you sign up for WooPayments, a special type of Stripe account is created for you. This is called a Stripe Express account.

Although rare, sometimes you may need to access your Stripe Express account directly, e.g. if you need to update your bank account information or your tax ID number.

To access your Stripe Express account via WooPayments, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Payments > Overview in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. In Account Details box, click the Edit details link.
  3. You will be taken to connect.stripe.com to log in.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone number.
  5. Click the person icon in the upper-right to manage your account settings.

If you can’t get into your Stripe Express account for WooPayments because you’ve lost access to your phone number, you can either:

  • Contact Stripe Express support and have them help you.
  • Use the I no longer have access to this phone number link on the Stripe Express login page to verify your identity via other means. If you can successfully verify, you’ll then be able to change the phone number used for login verification.

You can also log into your WooPayments Stripe Express account directly on Stripe.com.

To do so, simply enter your WooPayments account email address into Stripe’s login form. You will see a warning that: “This account uses mobile verification.” Click Sign In and you will be sent an SMS two factor code as usual.
